Blánchárdsanté Cologne/Perfume Commercial
From Blanchardstown CTC
Blánchárdsanté Cologne/Perfume Commercial This is a commercial for an imaginary cologne/perfume brand called Blánchárdsanté with the scent that reminds people of the Phoenix Park. It was made using a 3d animation software called Blender and has a realistic but also clay like feel to it at some parts. The main challenge was rendering the animated video as it takes time and I was running out of that, as well as making all the assets and materials by myself with my imagination. Some key things learned were that I should have left a little more time when creating the animation for the time to render the way I wanted as I had to make some compromises on that front and also to have fun with it because it is really stressful when you are stuck creatively and don’t know what to add or do next.

Fluidity
From Blanchardstown CTC
My project called ‘Fluidity’, created in a software called Blender, is an abstract piece that represents emotion, life, movement, art and complexity. An issue I faced was making the colour scheme convey subtle neutrality.

The Bad Weather Bus
By Terence MacSwiney Community College
Fed up or inspired by Storm Babet, our first years came up with the idea of the Bad Weather Bus, which would ideally be a bus that would collect local students and drop them to local schools on bad wether days as many students miss school on days like thes. Most of our students walk to school and don’t have access to a car, which means they stay home from school and this impacts their education and wellbeing. We researched the issue, created maps and timetables and the benefits of the bad weather bus.
Cashel Travellet Pride

Cashel Traveller Pride
By Tipperary Traveller Project
This project offered the girls an opportunity to reflect on their heritage, to think critically about social and educational challenges they face and to celebrate their cultural identity. Initially some of the girls were reluctant to speak candidly while others struggled to allow others the opportunity to speak. As the recording session progressed, each member felt more at ease and welcomed to engage as well as to actively listen to their counterparts. This suggests a progression in communication skills. The point of the podcast was to engage with the group and allow them to experience feeling seen, heard and valued with the recorded podcast being played at the event in Tús celebrating them and Traveller Pride as a whole. On behalf of myself as a tutor and the Tipperary Rural Traveller Project I think being included among selections for the Audio Production category and allowing the girls to attend the event would be an effective encouragement for them to re-engage with their education.

Class Connections
By Daniel McCarthy, Nick Prendergast, Kelsey Kenny, Aoife Anderson
Our class decided to create a well-being App prototype called Class Connections inspired by our classmate Daniel McCarthy. It is part of a TY Social Action Project to create an outlet for children with long term illness or other reasons who are absent from school for long periods to keep connected with their class and school community.
