Our History
In mid 2020 Camara Ireland and Suas Ireland (a division of Suas Educational Development) entered into an exploratory process to see if our respective visions could be best achieved by working together. This highlighted our complementary values and vision to enable young people through education to realise their full potential.
Camara Ireland were also stewards of TechSpace, a national creative technology network for educators to train and upskill, and support each other through Digital Creativity and STEAM.
Following a business review of both organisations and all associated brands it was decided to transfer the assets of Suas Ireland to Camara Ireland and TechSpace. To symbolise the merging of three strong brands it was also decided to enter into a rebrand process.
February 2021 Suas Ireland and Camara Ireland merged.
July 2021 Kinia was launched uniting Camara Ireland, Suas Ireland and TechSpace.
About Camara Education Ireland
Camara Ireland was established in 2010 to respond to the need to build the capacity of schools and youth education settings to use technology effectively. During the early years of Camara Ireland national reports were showing an ‘ad-hoc’ approach to the use of technology in the classroom with disadvantaged schools behind on the uptake due to lack of investment and resources. Since then programme development focused on widening impact with expansion to national programmes across schools and youth and community settings.
