Creative Technology Week 2026

A nationally recognised initiative set up by Kinia to celebrate young people across the country and their achievements in Creative Technology. Creative Technology Week 2026 will take place in Explorium again this year, with TechFéile on the 24th April and Creative TechFest on 25th April. Don’t miss your chance to be part of something extraordinary.

“Getting involved in Kinia and Creative TechFest has been a highlight of my work over the last year. Creative TechFest allowed the young people to set themselves goals, work as a team, develop a wide range of new skills and turn ideas into reality. The event itself was a great way for the young people to receive recognition for all their hard work and to motivate them to continue on their STEAM journey.”

– Liam Devanney, Project Worker, Include Youth Services

Along with interactive workshops, young people will also get free time to explore the incredible exhibits – from gravity-defying experiments to mind-bending illusions. It’s a week of discovery, creativity, and future-focused learning you won’t want to miss!

We’re also excited to welcome Coolest Projects to Creative Technology Week on 25th April, hosting their event with young coders from across Ireland.

All tickets and transport will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

For Young People:

Being digitally creative develops key skills and competencies that build opportunity and learning pathways, so that all young people can confidently create their future.

Creative Technology Week offers a chance for all young people to showcase their new skills at our flagship events, when we all come together to celebrate their amazing achievements during our live award ceremony.

Kinia Award Ceremony

You can develop and submit a project for this year’s Creative Technology Week Award Ceremony.

Young people will not only learn about the subject area in a fun and engaging way, but they will also develop skills and competencies such as: Collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and more. See categories listed below.

Reading Budding Champion
of the Year

This year, we are delighted to introduce the inaugural Reading Buddy Champion of the Year Award. TY Coordinators are invited to nominate one student who is currently participating in the Reading Buddy or Léigh Liom programmes. Nominees should have shown exceptional commitment, reliability, and enthusiasm, and consistently acted as positive role models within their school and volunteering communities.

H2 Grand Prix Pro Competition

Kinia will host Ireland’s first ever H2 Grand Prix Pro Competition at the Department of Transport’s LogisTYcs Skills Expo on 23rd April.

This hydrogen powered competition brings together winners from our regional H2 Grand Prix Sprint Competitions. Our network is buzzing with excitement as young people aged 13 – 17 are challenged to design, build, and race their own hydrogen-fuelled cars, putting their engineering, project management, and clean energy skills to the test.

The overall winners on 23rd April will go on to represent Ireland at the H2GP Pro World Finals in Switzerland in August 2026.

The Kinia Approach

The Kinia approach is strongly grounded in the belief that learning happens everywhere – in formal and non-formal learning environments.

We have a national, bi-lingual (English and Irish) reach across Ireland and, with the support of our partners we have provided training, support and professional development to over 20,000 teachers and youth workers over the last three years.

The Kinia non-profit ethos prioritises educators who work in DEIS schools, School Completion Programme, Rural and Gaeltacht areas, TUSLA and youth work services to reach disadvantaged and marginalised young people.
